Sitting in the fire

Leading the way, guiding people and being a guide I associate with someone with such qualities knowing and being able to (endure) their own issues, triggers, patterns and reactions.
In the process work we talk about having burned the own wood so far that I can hold it in me when it triggers again. There is a suitable book on this by Arnold Mindel "Sitting in the Fire". For me, "being able to sit in the fire" sums up leadership well.
